Phone Coaching To Help
Promote Weight Loss

Many Americans rarely leave home without their phones, and that could come in handy for those attempting to lose weight, according to Dr. Jeffrey Tucker, a West Los Angeles Nutritionist & Chiropractor.

“So many people are on the go and have a difficult time scheduling outside personal health appointments, but everyone uses cell phones. I thought, ‘How can I help people achieve weight loss goals, and how can I reach people if it’s not face to face?’” said Tucker, D.C.

Tucker has found that of those men and women, who received 1-2 sessions of personalized weight-loss phone coaching and exercise recommendations over an 8 -12 week period lost more body fat and increased lean body mass (muscle), compared with un-coached clients. Typical phone sessions lasted 10 - 30 minutes.

“I keep my clients motivated. Motivation is always an important key, it can be the difference between good amounts of weight loss and no weight loss. People tend to do better when they have a support system and when they have someone they report to each week. As an experienced Doctor and coach, I can help people work through specific food choices, create solutions, discuss family or social issues, create exercise plans, and hold people accountable to continue on to achieve goals,” Tucker said. “Compared to no coaching, phone coaching tends to show a benefit.”

Tucker’s program also uses natural supplements designed to decrease appetite and increase metabolism. These supplements help you lose fat while increasing your muscle mass.   Clients who use these supplements, including a protein-rich medical food, are able to reach their ideal body composition.

“Losing that extra 10 - 20 pounds has become a lot easier for those that I coach.” Tucker uses individual weight-loss supplements and programs are based on body composition analysis.

“Over time, overweight kids and adults are going to have to learn a new lifestyle, but if I can break it down into smaller and more meaningful steps, it makes the transitioning into that new lifestyle much easier,” Tucker said.

“If clients need to drop 5-7 pounds really fast, let’s say within a week, I have safe and effective  programs as well. Over the phone I can monitor them more closely and provide the support that will help them achieve their goal.”
